Job Description
The PIM Software Engineer develops the stable, scalable, and future‑proof services around Sika’s Product Information Management (PIM) platform based on Stibo STEP. The goal is enhance business processes around PIM with APIs and microsites that provide robust technical solutions to support the structured rollout of PIM. The role complements and strengthens the existing STEP expertise, by bringing additional software engineering capacity to support integrations, automations, and productivity enhancements.
Main Tasks:
Design, develop, configure, and maintain PIM functionality within and around Stibo STEP, aligned with the agreed PIM processes
- Support the design of STEP data models, workflows, integrations, and APIs in close collaboration with Corporate, Business, and IT teams.
- Ensure that PIM changes support country onboarding, future acquisitions, and corporate/business data clean‑up needs.
- Contribute to clear documentation, system governance, and alignment with PIM project charters.
- Build internal and external facing software solutions following SWE best practises, blueprints and design patters
Responsibility:
The PIM Software Engineer is responsible for the technical implementation of STEP‑based PIM functionalities and ensuring compliance with governance. They hold responsibility for infrastructure configurations, workflows, and integrations that are impacting PIM processes. No budget or contract authority. The software engineer has the authority to:
- enforce technical and process standards within and around the PIM platform,
- coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure that technical decisions align with Sika strategy
- influence project timelines and resource allocation where technical feasibility is concerned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of full stack software engineering experience is required.
- Strong skills with Python and JavaScript is mandatory.
- Database, Algorithms, UX principles are expected.
- Commitment to customer service and excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to move between diverse types of tasks, and the desire to do so.
