About the job
Employee Work Operation 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 women and men with diverse professional profiles. JuWe is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For JuWe employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The main department of remand prisons Zurich (UGZ) - one of seven main departments of JuWe - currently operates seven prisons for pre-trial and security detention. One of these facilities is the Winterthur Prison (GFW), which manages its tasks with a staff of around 49 employees and offers space for 92 incarcerated persons and 9 places for provisional detention.
For the work operation of the GFW, we are looking for a physically resilient and committed personality to start immediately or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Leadership, guidance, and supervision of around 92 inmates in the work operation, taking into account their abilities as well as their current physical and mental condition
- Work and customer acquisition as well as maintaining a comprehensive employment offer for all incarcerated persons
- Preparation and control of offers, delivery notes, and invoices
- Ensuring correct recording of the earnings of all incarcerated persons
- Participation in UGZ projects
- Handling administrative tasks
Your profile
- Completed training in a craft-related field
- Mental resilience and good physical constitution
- Confident German skills and ideally good English skills, knowledge of other languages is an advantage
- Enjoyment in dealing with people of different social and cultural backgrounds
- Open-mindedness in thinking and acting
- Enjoyment of teamwork
- Minimum age of 25 years
- Experience in correctional services is an advantage
- Driver's license category BE is an advantage
- Experience with stationary woodworking machines is an advantage
- Impeccable reputation
