About the job
Real incidents, own Splunk platform, lots of variety: You analyse, defend and help build, instead of just closing tickets. And all without on-call duty.
Cyber Security Engineer
Who needs your support?
Your new challenge is at EveryWare, the leading Swiss cloud and IT service provider with its own highly scalable data centre and network infrastructure in Zurich - specialising in the needs of business customers. With more than 20 years of expertise, the company designs and operates private, public and hybrid cloud architectures, hosting and managed IT platforms. Around 250 employees, 90% of whom are specialised engineers, bring international innovations practically into Swiss companies. Over 3000 companies and 30 business partners have already chosen EveryWare as a partner. More than 200 successfully completed major projects for business customers, including clients from the banking and insurance sectors, demonstrate EveryWare's competence.
How you create value
In the EveryWare Cyber Security team, you have a diverse role: You analyse alerts, respond to security incidents and further develop detections and the platform. This is what your week looks like:
- You review the security alerts: triage, qualify, decide what requires a response.
- Each week you handle smaller security incidents, e.g. phishing or malware: contain the threat, analyse logs, secure evidence and reconstruct what happened.
- You inform customers according to a clear communication plan for security incidents.
- You operate and configure the in-house Splunk platform, make it more robust and develop it further.
- You work with CrowdStrike EDR and write your own detections.
- You regularly scan with Nessus, assess vulnerabilities and discuss the results with the engineering teams and customers.
- You participate in customer projects, e.g. in the implementation of Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- You help to further develop processes and automation in the SOC and share your knowledge within the team.
What sets you apart
- You have a solid IT education and experience in a security team, e.g. as a SOC analyst, security analyst or security engineer.
- You understand how IT systems work: Windows, Linux, network, logs. You are an engineer and hands-on.
- You know SIEM and EDR. Splunk and CrowdStrike are a plus.
- You script, e.g. with Python, PowerShell or Bash. Ansible, Linux engineering, Sigma or Yara are a plus.
- You want to get to the bottom of things and enjoy analysing. Security is more than a job for you.
- Many environments, customers and industries excite you rather than deter you.
- You speak fluent German and good English.
- You live in Switzerland.
