Church musician with cantorial duties in the popular music sector

The Reformed Church Community Meilen is a lively and culturally diverse community on the right shore of Lake Zurich. A beacon of the church community is the music with a choir consisting of five choirs and ensembles with musically diverse orientations.

To strengthen the team of musicians, we are looking for a church musician with cantorial duties in the popular music sector with a workload of 25-30% starting September 1, 2026.

Your tasks

• Leading the gospel choir and gospel ensemble in weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings and with performances
• Coordination and leadership of the Gospel Christmas in a team with other church communities
• Participation in and organization of the Sing & Spirit services (Praise service)
• Leading the Meilemer Jazz Nights workshop with jazz service
• Cantorial duties such as playing music with confirmands, participation in services, performances as a church musician, as well as co-organization and participation in community-building events on a project basis
• Participation in meetings of the community committees
• Including the associated administrative tasks

Your profile

• Church music education and experience with a focus on choir conducting and singing (cantor training is an advantage)
• Special interest in popular music
• Social skills; good team and communication skills
• Connection to the Christian cultural sphere
• Good networking in the Swiss gospel and jazz scene and in the Meilen region is desirable
