Sustainability - Purchasing Intern - (M/F/X) Fixed-term contract – Spring 2026

At the heart of the backstage of Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, you will actively participate in our sustainable development approach and the optimization of our responsible purchasing processes. A concrete role, at the crossroads of operations and strategy, to help make our hotel a committed and exemplary player in its sector.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Purchasing Manager, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
Purchasing
- Assists with goods reception, cellar, and storeroom and ensures that storage and quality standards are respected.
- Contributes to stock management and the accuracy of theoretical and physical stocks.
- Performs entries in Birchstreet with precision.
- Assists the Assistant Manager in inventory management and reconciliations.
- Actively participates in the implementation and compliance with HACCP requirements and complies with all hygiene and safety legislation.
Sustainability
- Must be a member of the Sustainability committee,
- Participates in the operational and administrative monitoring of sustainability projects (environmental certification audit, food waste, sustainable practices in catering, waste treatment, plastic elimination, energy efficiency).
- Ensures data quality and performs data entry in the GAIA platform to guarantee regular KPI monitoring in compliance with Accor group procedures.
- Contributes to the drafting of internal and external analysis and reporting documents.
- Helps coordinate, organize logistics, and communicate occasional CSR activities within the hotel.
- Assists in calendar planning and minute writing,
- Acts as a sustainability ambassador among colleagues and other departments.
- Respects ergonomic work standards and Health & Safety instructions.
- Respects department policies and procedures.
- Performs any other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Internship as part of a hotel training program or must have European nationality if the internship is from a school outside Switzerland.
- Mastery of French and English languages.
- Ease with computer tools: Microsoft Office Word – Birchstreet.
- Ability to work physically.
- Ability to work weekends and/or evenings during major events.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously and handle last-minute changes.
- Well organized and efficient in following up and collecting information from other departments.

VISA REQUIREMENTS
To be able to work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from a European country of the EU – 17 or EU -8.
