This role supports Arxada’s energy and sustainability strategy by managing CO₂ allocation and emissions monitoring while driving long-term energy planning. A key responsibility is the development and maintenance of modeling and simulation tools, including a comprehensive mass and energy balance model for the Visp Verbund. These tools enable scenario analysis, forecasting, and resource optimization to achieve compliance and efficiency goals. The position combines regulatory expertise with strong analytical capabilities and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful sustainability outcomes, contribute to climate goals, and enable data-driven decisions.
Physical presence at the Visp site is required to ensure effective collaboration with Operations, local teams, and regulatory authorities.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure compliance with energy and sustainability regulations, including CO₂ allocation and reporting.
- Develop and maintain models and tools to support energy planning and optimization.
- Prepare and validate energy and emissions data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to long-term energy strategy through forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and innovative solutions in energy management.
Qualifications & Experience
- MS or PhD in Energy Engineering, Process Engineering, Mathematics, or Informatics.
- Experience with system modeling; preferred in the energy or chemical industry.
- Preferred background in sustainability consulting, including decarbonization strategies, carbon footprint calculations, and sustainability reporting.
- Fluent in English; German proficiency preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to solve complex problems.
- Supports a culture of continuous improvement and demonstrates a “can-do” attitude.
- Customer-focused: understands stakeholder needs and takes action to enhance satisfaction.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
