The Cultural Office sets the strategic direction for cultural promotion and implements the cultural policy of the government council. It promotes contemporary cultural creation in various fields, supports projects and institutions, awards prizes and distinctions, and supports municipalities in their cultural programs. Through these activities, the Cultural Office contributes to a diverse cultural life in the canton of Zurich.
Starting May 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking for a person who will take on the project responsibility for the opera house as well as legal tasks of the Cultural Office with commitment.
These tasks await you
- Contact person for the opera house and handling of all business including reporting, compliance with requirements, and review of the annual accounts and budget
- Support of the construction project Zukunft Oper
- Handling legal issues within the responsibility of the Cultural Office
- Drafting government council proposals and cantonal council proposals for the Cultural Office
- Statements on new laws and regulations (cantonal and national)
- Preparation of parliamentary business in the cultural sector
- Intercantonal cultural cost equalization: participation in the working group and calculation of compensations
You bring with you
- Completed studies in law
- Several years of professional experience, preferably with experience in public administration
- Demonstrated interest in culture, ideally with knowledge of Swiss cultural promotion and actors in cultural policy as well as cultural creation in the canton
- Independent personality who enjoys working precisely and structured in a team and with high initiative.
- Interest in political processes and business
