SUISA is the cooperative of authors and publishers of music. Over 44,000 composers, lyricists, and music publishers are organized in the company founded in 1923. SUISA enables music to be used publicly and ensures that music creators are fairly paid for this use. Together with sister companies worldwide, it represents the rights of a total of two million authors and publishers. SUISA employs over 200 staff at locations in Zurich, Lausanne, and Lugano.SUISA connects music creators and music users. The Customer Department supports the users of music and aligns their interests with those of the authors through the licensing of music usage.
These activities will inspire you
- Strategic and operational responsibility for the Customer Department
- Management of licensing and customer negotiations
- Market analysis, development, and acquisition of new customers
- Responsibility for processing usage reports and tariff application
- Handling payment and collection processes
- Ensuring the core process from licensing to distribution
- Interface to the legal department and tariff development
- Active participation in the overall strategic development of SUISA
- Cross-departmental coordination and collaboration with all relevant units
- Bringing operational and market-oriented perspectives into overall management
- Ability to shape organizational changes together within the management team
- Co-responsibility for efficient decision-making processes within the executive board
- Representation of SUISA in external committees and towards relevant stakeholders, if required
What distinguishes you
- Many years of experience in copyright law in the Swiss and international context
- Knowledge of licensing practices and tariff structures is a great advantage
- Strong negotiation skills with private customers and institutions
- Good IT skills (ideally also work databases and CRM systems) as well as a flair for digital processes and their optimization
- Very good business management knowledge and enthusiasm for innovation and continuous improvement
- Good networking in the Swiss (and ideally also international) cultural scene
- Very good language skills in German, French, and English and ideally other national languages
- Proven leadership experience (strategic & operational) and cooperative leadership style with appropriate delegation behavior
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- High analytical and conceptual abilities and ideally already tested change management skills
- Strong service orientation and decision-making competence
