The Zurich Public Prosecutor's Office (STA.ZH) is responsible for prosecuting crimes committed by adults in the canton of Zurich. It employs around 500 staff across eight offices as well as the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The "Finance and Controlling" department in the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office ensures an efficient accounting system and provides corresponding professional services and support in the offices.
From March 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for your support as an Accounting Clerk (100%).
Your tasks include:
- Preparation of accurate case billing and support for internal and external offices in clarifications and inquiries
- Posting of incoming payments on our bank and postal accounts
- Handling inquiries and feedback from the central debt collection office of the Superior Court as well as other court instances
- Receipt, forwarding, and management of evidence according to official decisions
- Management of internal cash registers including complete and traceable bookkeeping according to ICS guidelines
- Handling telephone and written inquiries from internal and external offices
- Sorting and processing the daily incoming mail for the accounting department
- Active participation in shaping, harmonizing, and further developing internal departmental processes
You fit with this profile:
- In addition to a commercial basic education, you ideally have further training as an Accounting Clerk
- You bring at least three years of professional experience in a comparable environment (public administration, healthcare, etc.)
- You enjoy working with various IT tools, are proficient in MS Office, and have already gained initial experience with SAP
- You are a team player and enjoy working in an open-plan office with 10 colleagues, think networked, and like to take responsibility
- You are a resilient personality who works reliably, accurately, and with high concentration even on repetitive tasks
- You enjoy collaborating with various interfaces, are communicative, and service-oriented
