Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement, and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors, and United Nations system organizations.
With a sub-regional office in Cameroon, the UNOPS Multi-Country Office covers fifteen countries, namely: Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Comoros, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Cape Verde, Seychelles, and Mauritius. The office manages an active portfolio exceeding 550 million dollars, with a significant number of infrastructure projects.
Over the years, the office has developed strong cooperation relationships with international partners, United Nations agencies, and governments throughout Central Africa. UNOPS provides technical support and capacity building in strategic development areas such as rehabilitation and construction of infrastructure in the health, education, public works, and governance/public administration sectors; procurement, project management, and sectoral consulting; peace and security, as well as environmental preservation and protection, among others.
UNOPS has been present in Angola since 2023 and has been developing various initiatives and new projects, which will result in the recruitment of qualified professionals, both nationally and internationally.
The project in which this position is included is funded with 6.5 million dollars from the Government of Japan, aimed at implementing resilient agricultural infrastructure in the provinces of Benguela and Huambo.
The Procurement Analyst will report directly to the Procurement Specialist, who will provide guidance and overall supervision.
Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Procurement Specialist, who in turn reports to the Head of Support Services, the Procurement Analyst will be responsible for the effective delivery of procurement services, ensuring the application of best practices in national and international public contracting, compliance with UNOPS procurement rules and regulations, proper risk management, and obtaining the best value for money.
The post holder will analyze and interpret applicable rules and regulations, providing appropriate solutions for a wide range of procurement-related issues.
Maintaining the highest standards of personal and professional ethics, the Procurement Officer should adopt a collaborative, client-centered, high-quality, and results-oriented approach within the Business Unit.
