PUB MANAGER FOR BUSY PUB IN TOP LOCATION

Are you passionate about great drinks, good vibes, and delivering top-notch service? The Penny is looking for a friendly, reliable Pub Manager to join our team.
Based in Aarau, conveniently located just across from the train station, we take pride in offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with friendly service that makes everyone feel at home.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day runnig of the pub, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Be the face of the pub
• Recruit, train and manage staff, including rosta planning.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries, and supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and hygiene regulations.
• If not in posession of an Aargau Pub License (wirtepatent), study towards achieving one.
• Monitor budgets, control costs, and report on performance.
• Organise and promote events, from live music, sports, to community activities.
• Build strong relationships with regulars and local organisations.
• Promote the pub using traditional and modern medias (socials).
• Manage bookings.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
• Work behind the bar, serving customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing a pub, bar, or similar hospitality business.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• A hands-on approach and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to handle budgets and manage costs effectively.
• Excellent communication skills - German & English.
• Ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure
• A team player with a positive attitude and great customer service skills
• Local knowledge and community ties is highly desirable.
• Ideally in posession of a Aargau Pub License (wirtepatent).
