Data Scientist Intern (f/m/d)

Join Axpo Biogas International to turn data into real impact. Help build our Asset Management System, optimize biogas plant performance, and learn alongside a collaborative team shaping a sustainable energy future.
What you will do:
- Gather and translate stakeholder needs into functional requirements for our Asset Management System
- Design data acquisition from plant operations, finance systems, and manual inputs
- Implement automated KPI calculations and alerting logic for plant operations
- Build statistical and machine learning models for performance analysis
- Create clear dashboards and reports for Plant Managers to Top Management
- Support roll-out, user onboarding, and maintain documentation of tools and models
What you bring & who you are:
- Must-have: BSc/MSc in Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or Computer Science; first relevant internship/project experience
- Must-have: Proficiency in Python and SQL; solid data analysis skills
- Must-have: Familiarity with data science methods and model development; attention to detail; team-oriented and result-driven mindset
- Nice-to-have: Experience with BI tools, ideally Power BI
- Nice-to-have: Experience with asset/plant data, real-time data, or alerting logic
