The Vocational School for Retail and Pharmacy Zurich (BSDPZ) is a cantonal vocational school where around 1,900 apprentices/students are taught by 100 teachers/lecturers in vocational basic education and in the tertiary sectors of retail and pharmacy.
We are looking for the 2026/2027 school year (September 1, 2026 / school start August 17, 2026) for a committed leader with experience in healthcare or vocational education who will strategically and operationally further develop our Pharmacy Department, as

Head of Pharmacy Department (80%)

Your tasks
- You develop the strategy and objectives for the Pharmacy Department in collaboration with the team leaders and implement them.
- You sustainably develop the Pharmacy Department and align it with the needs of the labor market.
- You ensure the quality of teaching and educational offerings in the Pharmacy Department and are responsible for the development of offerings and teaching.
- You accompany and support the team leaders in implementing the national curricula and review their implementation.
- You are responsible for the personnel and administrative management of the Pharmacy Department, including recruitment, workload planning, and employee evaluation.
- You organize and conduct department meetings and promote an open communication culture.
- You actively participate in school management and help shape the school strategically and operationally.
- You develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the educational offerings of the Pharmacy Department.
- You prepare the budget for the Pharmacy Department and are responsible for the use of funds within the approved budget.

Your profile
- University or university of applied sciences degree or completion of a higher professional examination.
- Vocational school teacher with a teaching mandate or eligible as such.
- Profound knowledge of the total revision of the vocational basic education for Pharmacy Specialist EFZ.
- At least five years of teaching experience at secondary level II as well as proven leadership experience, ideally in a comparable function.
- Completed school management training (EDK recognition desirable) or willingness to complete it.
- Strategic and conceptual thinking, leadership skills, communication and organizational talent, as well as confident presentation skills.
- Experience in project management and negotiation skills.
- Appreciative attitude and transparent leadership style.
- Leadership experience in healthcare or a comparable educational institution is an advantage.
