GIS Specialist for Water Protection 60 - 80%

Do you want to play a central role in protecting our waters? Then become part of the Water Protection Department! We are committed to protecting Zurich's waters – whether groundwater or surface waters such as lakes, rivers, and streams. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a motivated GIS specialist as soon as possible.

Your tasks

• You are the central contact point for all GIS topics and applications in our department and continuously develop them further
• You independently implement GIS assignments – from the initial idea to the finished map or application
• You work closely and solution-oriented in the team and with experienced GIS colleagues from the office and the Building Department – coordination, exchange, support, and joint learning are of course part of it

Your profile

• You have a completed university of applied sciences/university degree in geoinformation, geomatics, geography, or a related field
• You have several years of professional experience in the GIS environment – ideally in the public sector or a comparable organization
• You work confidently with GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro and FME.
• Knowledge of Python and ArcGIS Enterprise is an advantage
• You think customer-oriented, communicate clearly, and can convey complex contexts understandably
• You work structured, proactively, and keep an overview even with parallel projects
• You like to take responsibility – both for your tasks and for the further development of products and processes
