Manufacturing Engineer
Mission
The Integrated Actuators Laboratory (LAI) is seeking a highly motivated manufacturing engineer to join our team in tackling the exciting challenges associated with the fabrication of a smart footwear for the prevention of lower-limb amputations in people with diabetes. In collaboration with Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), we are developing next-generation of orthopedic shoe, with clinical trials to evaluate our innovative off-loading technology with the ultimate goal of preventing foot ulcers and amputations. To support this effort, we are looking for an engineer who can contribute to the fabrication process and help ensure the reliability and robustness of our smart insole.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Support the development of electromechanical actuators
- Design electromechanical tests benches (hardware and software) for assessment of devices
- Manufacture packaging of embedded electronics
- Participate actively to clinical tests
Profile
- We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a degree from HES, EPFL, ETHZ or equivalent in microengineering, mechanics or related fields
- The ideal candidate is service-oriented, proactiveand an excellent team player
- Experience with innovative biomedical actuators is a plus
- Strong experimental skills, including prototyping and test bench development
- Proficiency in CAD and automation systems
- Motivation for multidisciplinary research and collaborative team projects
- Self-driven, creative and enthusiastic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
