Physiotherapists for the General Psychiatry Service
The General Psychiatry Service of the Psychiatry Department at CHUV is looking for two physiotherapists at 40% and 50% for a start on December 1, '25 or to be agreed upon.
Context
The University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Psychiatry Department consists of 10 services addressing the three stages of life. It covers the Central, West, and North psychiatric sectors of the canton. Its mission is the comprehensive and multidisciplinary care of children, adolescents, adults, and elderly people suffering from mental disorders. Caregivers provide acute care to patients but also offer outpatient follow-ups and support in their usual living environment.
The General Psychiatry Service provides psychiatric care for the adult population (18 to 65 years) of the Lausanne metropolitan area.
Organized into specialized sections, it has about one hundred acute care beds on the Cery site and outpatient consultations in the city to best meet the needs of users and network partners.
Mission
- You ensure the design and implementation of physiotherapy treatments prescribed by a doctor in the general psychiatry service
- You specifically assess each patient taken care of according to a bio-psycho-social approach to determine the physiotherapy diagnosis
- You apply all your skills to achieve therapeutic goals effectively and economically, based on scientific evidence
- You manage each patient according to a specific treatment plan
- You adapt care based on the patient’s progress
- You master this approach while respecting the protocols and care guidelines in force in the service, as well as the institution’s clinical practice recommendations
- You apply a continuous improvement dynamic related to your therapeutic and prevention activity.
Profile
- You hold a HES physiotherapist diploma (or an equivalent title, with Red Cross recognition for staff qualified abroad, mandatory)
- You have experience and skills in psychiatry or an interest in training in the specific field of body approaches in psychiatry
- You appreciate collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
- You work autonomously and have good communication skills
- You have an interest in rehabilitation and relational work.
