Legal Auditor 80 - 100%
Are you looking for a challenge in the field of politics and administration, with an employer whose topics are as diverse as life itself?
At our General Secretariat of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs, the threads come together. We support the director and the offices with versatile services, process legal remedies, and advise other directorates on draft laws.
From April 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking for a legal auditor in the legal service for nine to twelve months.
Your main tasks
- Processing appeals against decisions of our administrative units (especially in the areas of penal system, names, citizenship law, and civil status) as well as supervisory complaints
- Handling motions from the cantonal council
- Collaborating in the specialist areas of the legal service (including political rights, legal remedies, and supervision) as well as in the legislative service (legal-technical review of ordinances)
- Participating in projects (e.g., in the areas of data protection, municipal affairs, or discrimination protection)
Your profile
- Completed law degree (MLaw)
- Ability to quickly grasp and independently handle complex issues
- Enjoyment of constitutional and administrative law as well as interest in political contexts
- Communicative personality as well as committed, careful, and structured working style
- Initial professional experience after studies (e.g., a court or legal internship) is an advantage
Your benefits at a glance
- We offer you a versatile and challenging activity in a motivated team with scope for creativity at the pulse of society
- We provide you with a good understanding of the societal shaping function of law, the legislative process, the administrative appeal procedure, administration, and politics.
- You will gain practical experience in the field of constitutional, administrative, and public procedural law as well as in selected areas of civil and criminal law, which will be useful for a further career in cantonal administration and also for the bar exam
- We value lived flat hierarchies and flexible home office arrangements
- You work at the pulse of Zurich – directly at the main station
