ICT Trainer 80 - 100%The Office for Informatics (AFI) is the IT competence center of the Canton of Zurich.
It provides comprehensive services in the area of central IT infrastructure and canton-wide applications for directorates, authorities, the judiciary, and independent institutions. Commissioned with the implementation of the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, the office accompanies the canton into the digital world.
The training of the next generation of ICT professionals is a central concern for the Canton of Zurich. For the professional leadership, training, and further development of our ICT apprentice organization at the Office for Informatics, we are looking for a committed personality with a passion for vocational training and joy in working with young people. In addition to operational work, you will also strategically advance ICT basic education. You want to shape ICT basic education at AFI both operationally and strategically and are looking for a position with potential? Then you are exactly right here!
Your tasks:
- Overall responsibility for operational ICT basic education at AFI, including planning, coordination, and quality assurance of the entire training process for currently 11 apprentices
- Professional, methodological, and personnel leadership, support, and promotion of apprentices throughout the entire apprenticeship; preparation and execution of educational reports, probationary period, and evaluation discussions.
- Management of internship and deployment planning as well as close cooperation with AFI practical trainers and the personnel office
- Further development of the AFI apprentice organization and ensuring training quality through continuous development of the basic education concept, apprentice lab, training tools, and learning formats in the sense of modern, future-oriented ICT vocational training.
- Establishment, operation, and continuous development of the apprentice lab (including infrastructure, budget, and training offerings).
- Participation in recruitment, selection, and trial apprenticeships in cooperation with the personnel office, as well as onboarding new apprentices into the organization.
- Implementation of the introduction program for apprentices in the ICT specialist EFZ profession
- Ensuring compliance with cantonal requirements and regular exchange with the Vocational Education Office in the personnel department.
Your profile:
- Completed ICT vocational training (EFZ) as well as tertiary level qualification (FA, HF, or equivalent); several years of professional experience in the IT environment.
- Experience in supporting and promoting apprentices as well as high pedagogical and didactic competence.
- Very good basic ICT knowledge, ideally with a focus on system technology.
- Strong social and communication skills, a structured, responsible, and well-organized working style, and joy in contributing new ideas.
- Commitment to modern, quality-oriented training of young ICT professionals and enjoyment in working with young people.
- Willingness for continuous further education.
