SG Zurich Branch (CIB) provides innovative financial solutions, advisory services and capital market products serving the needs of its corporate, institutional and private clients. Present in Switzerland since 1927 SGCIB Zurich Branch offers local and cross-border expertise providing a full range of financial services to its clients with a particular focus on securities, services to foreign funds, trade finance and cash management services.

Mission: 

For this internship, you will be working alongside one of the structured products sales desks on the trading floor in Zurich and be part of a young, dynamic, tight-knit sales team. You will be in frequent contact with the sales-, trading-, engineering-, middle- back office and support teams as well as our institutional clients with full exposure to the fast-paced trading floor environment.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Book of primary transactions
  • Provide clients with product related information and documents
  • Manage the flow from front to back office of new issuances as well as inventory products
  • Book and set up traded products in various systems (Bloomberg, Reuters, Telekurs)
  • Help clients with product specific requests such as corporate action adjustments in the legal documentation, correcting missing or faulty price quotations on Bloomberg, Reuters, making sure that clients are informed about redemption or other payment details of new issuances and inventory products
  • Prepare and checking the product specific legal documentation (Termsheets, Final terms)
  • Manage various data bases to keep track of the flow and product inventory involving occasional projects to automate or simplify processes
  • General ad-hoc duties to support the sales force

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Bachelor/Master student with a major in Finance/Economics/ Engineering with strong academic record
  • Previously experience in financial derivatives

Language skills:

  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency either in French or German

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Advanced skills in Excel (proficiency in VBA is a plus)
  • Good communication skills
