About the job
The Roman Catholic parish of Horw is located on the beautiful Lake Lucerne and at the foot of Mount Pilatus. It is very important to us that all our churches, chapels, the parish center, and all places within our parish community serve as meeting points for encounters and exchange. We are looking for a committed team player as janitor and sacristan (40-60%) starting November 1, 2025, or by arrangement. Your tasks - versatile and meaningful:In this varied position, you contribute to ensuring that our parish is not only well-maintained but also hospitable and lively. This includes in particular:
- Professional care and maintenance of green spaces
- Careful supervision of the property surroundings - including winter services
- Regular cleaning and maintenance work in and around the buildings
- Preparation and follow-up of events
- Active assistance at parish events
- Organization of room handover and return during rentals
- Setting up rooms and maintaining equipment for parish work
- Carrying out minor repairs
- Support in sacristan duties as needed
- Handling simple administrative tasks
- Professionally competent and personally committed working style
- Completed technical or manual training
- Further training as a federally certified janitor is an advantage
- Good PC skills (MS Office)
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written
- Willingness to work irregular hours
- Team spirit, flexibility, and a reliable working style
