The St. Elisabethen retirement and nursing home, uniquely located in the Hirzbrunnen district, is a Basel foundation founded in 1903. We offer 73 residents with varying care needs across 5 departments a continuous care system and the opportunity to spend their later years in a family-like environment.
Due to retirement, we are looking for a:
Head Chef 80-100%
to lead our kitchen team starting December or by arrangement.
You bring:
- Completed basic training as a cook EFZ
- Further training as a head chef FA or certified head chef
- Professional and leadership experience (preferably in healthcare)
- Ideally experience in dietetic cooking, or already training as a diet cook
- An independent, reliable, quality-conscious, team-oriented personality with high social competence
- You are motivated and service-oriented to take on and perform the tasks
- Very good oral and written German skills required
- Good PC and MS Office user skills
Your main tasks:
- Committed preparation of creative dishes considering special diets
- Ensuring smooth workflows in the catering area
- Maintaining services and quality at a high level
- Consistent application of HACCP guidelines and food regulations
- Management of duty and vacation planning as well as employee discussions
- Shaping and promoting optimal teamwork
- Leading the 10-member kitchen team
- Budget control and compliance
- Process-oriented thinking and leadership
- Participation in the continuous improvement of our offerings
- Co-responsibility for internal and external events
- Supervision and support of trainees
- Responsibility for ordering and inventory management
