Lecturer ABU with Option for Vocational School Teacher mbA with Focus on Bilingual/Language Support (60 – 100%)

The General Vocational School Zurich is the competence center for the professions of gastronomy and hospitality. In addition, it is responsible for the basic education of various other professions and also offers courses in the continuing education sector. With around 2,200 students and over 100 teachers in 17 different professions, it is one of the larger vocational schools in the canton of Zurich.

At the beginning of the 2026/27 school year, a teaching position for General Education (ABU) with a scope of around 60% to 100% is to be filled. We are looking for a committed teacher with interest and skills in bilingual and digital teaching (German/English, Moodle) as well as in language support.

The employment is according to the Secondary School and Vocational School Teacher Ordinance as a lecturer with the option of becoming a vocational school teacher mbA.

• You teach ABU in German and English (bilingual) in different professions.
• You are involved in the ABU subject group and advocate for the further development of ABU, the bilingual area, and language support at ABZH.
• You co-develop learning units on our LMS (Moodle).
• You participate in school and team events.
• In the case of employment as a vocational school teacher mbA, you take on special tasks on behalf of the school management within the scope of your mbA employment.

• Completed teaching qualification for vocational schools
• Completed CAS in bilingual teaching and English language diploma C1
• Completed CAS German as a Second Language (DaZ) or similar is an advantage
• Open-minded, team-oriented, communicative, and committed personality with high social skills
• Independent, flexible working style with high initiative
• Several years of teaching experience in general education and bilingual teaching is an advantage
