Tasks and Environment
- You will work in the radionuclide team of the Department of Climate and Environmental Physics at the University of Bern. Here, environmental samples from groundwater and atmosphere are measured and evaluated. The results are applied in hydrology and provide important insights into changes in the climate system.
- Your tasks are diverse and also include complex workflows on measuring devices specially developed at the university. One of your activities is to separate noble gases from gas samples and prepare the subsequent activity measurements in the counting laboratory. This is done in close collaboration with the scientific staff and involves several gas chromatographic as well as physical separation steps.
- You will be carefully trained step by step for these tasks. The workload can be flexibly arranged in a dynamic university environment. In addition, there is the possibility to complement your activity profile with field assignments for the collection of environmental samples.
Requirements
- You have completed training as a laboratory technician and are able to work independently and precisely in a small team after thorough introduction.
- You are reliable, have good knowledge of common office applications, and place great importance on the highest accuracy. Good English skills complete your profile.
