Secretary at the Faculty Unit of Anatomy and Morphology of the IML
To complete its team, the Faculty Unit of Anatomy and Morphology (UFAM) of the University Center of Forensic Medicine (CURML) is looking for a 50% secretary for an indefinite contract.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Located on the two hospital-university sites of Lausanne and Geneva, the University Center of Forensic Medicine (CURML) has a staff of about 240 employees whose activities take place within thirteen specialized forensic science units, including UFAM in Lausanne.
The main mission of UFAM is to ensure the teaching of anatomy, histology, and embryology within the FBM, and its activities mainly include:
- pre- and post-graduate teaching of anatomy, histology, and embryology
- management of body donations for science for medical training and research
- development of new educational tools for teaching morphology (anatomy, histology, embryology)
- clinical research, promoting inter-unit collaborations within CURML as well as between universities and hospitals.
The Unit collaborates with various clinical services of CHUV, notably in the context of pre- and post-graduate training of doctors as well as research. Furthermore, it hosts doctoral and Master’s students for thesis work.
As a unit of CURML, it collaborates and exchanges with other Units of the Center, notably the Romand Unit of Forensic Medicine and Imaging, the Unit of Forensic Toxicology and Chemistry, and the Faculty Unit of Toxicology.
Mission
- You assist the Unit manager, notably by managing her agenda (appointments, meetings, seminars, and teaching activities), organizing business trips, and handling correspondence
- You manage internal/external phone calls and direct various requests
- You ensure administrative activities such as ordering supplies, filing and archiving administrative documents, room reservations, convocations, and drafting evaluation interview reports
- You develop databases (teaching, research, collaborations, etc.) and produce statistical tables as needed; you participate in the development and updating of quality documents
- You participate in teaching secretarial activities, notably by writing letters, emails, and official documents in French and English and contributing to the organization of the Unit’s teachers’ calendar and student engagement
- You contribute to accounting and HR management for all Unit activities.
Profile
- You hold a commercial employee CFC or an equivalent qualification
- You demonstrate perfect mastery of French and English with excellent writing skills
- You master standard computer tools
- Rigorous, organized, you have a sense of priorities, know how to show initiative and take responsibility while strictly respecting directives and deadlines
- Your excellent team spirit, interpersonal ease, and flexibility ideally complement your profile.
