Professor Laamanen is Chair of Strategic Management, Director at the Institute of Management and Strategy, Academic Director of the Financial Times No. 1-ranked Master Program in Strategy and International Management (SIM), and Academic Director of the PhD Program in General Management at the University of St. Gallen. The Chair team's research has been published, among others, in the Strategic Management Journal, the Academy of Management Annals, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Management Studies, the Journal of International Business Studies, Research Policy, and Strategic Organization.
Your tasks
- To assist and support Professor Tomi Laamanen chair's Master's, Executive, and PhD courses
- To participate in the chair's research and company projects. The research areas of the chair team cover the strategic management area, as a whole, with a specific focus on programmatic M&A, strategy processes and practices, and the use of AI in strategy
- To engage with the scientific community by participating in international conferences
- Striving to publish your work in leading strategy journals
- To complete your PhD degree as part of the appointment
Your profile
- Passionate about high-quality strategic management research publishable in top-level strategy journals.
- Proficient in either quantitative or qualitative research methods.
- While not mandatory, prior experience in machine learning and proficiency in Python programming will be considered advantageous given the focus of the position.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
- Having German language skills would be beneficial.
- Applicants must hold a Master's degree in a relevant field with a minimum grade of 5.0 (on a 6.0 scale) or be on track to complete their Master's degree before the start of employment.
