Lectureship for Historical Violin Instruments (Minors Historical Performance Practice) 5–25%
in the Interpretation & Performance degree program will be newly filled.
We are looking for a personality with a versatile career on violin instruments of historical mensur as well as a degree in Baroque violin or Baroque viola. We expect excellent pedagogical skills as well as teaching experience at the university level or the willingness to further develop university didactics.
As part of your regular presence at the university, you will share responsibility for the continuous artistic promotion and training of students in the Minors Historical Performance Practice and in the secondary subjects Baroque violin and Baroque viola. Experience with other historical high string instruments is desired but not mandatory. You are interested in developing, advertising, and conducting group courses as well as teaching students of other instrument groups in ensembles. Close collaboration and exchange with the faculty of main subject lecturers of all string instruments and the lecturers in the field of historical performance practice is part of your employment.

The trial lessons with a short recital on two different high string instruments of historical mensur (duration 15–20 minutes), teaching lessons, and a professional discussion will take place on July 6 and 7, 2026 in Zurich. The short recital and teaching lessons will be conducted publicly at the university.
