About us
Barmelweid is the leading specialist and rehabilitation clinic in Northwestern Switzerland and the largest psychosomatic clinic in Switzerland. The clinic has 285 beds, with the Department of Internal Medicine caring for patients in around 180 beds. The clinic specializes in geriatric, internal medicine, cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation as well as sleep medicine. The Department of Internal Medicine works closely with Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, thus also enabling services such as psychocardiology or the long-Covid program.
Barmelweid employs over 700 staff. It is located at around 800 meters altitude on a clearing in the Aargau Jura and is embedded in a unique environment with a nature park.
Sleep medicine deals with the causes and treatment of various sleep disorders. Diagnostic methods are available on an outpatient or inpatient basis. This is followed by disorder-specific treatment.
