The Office for Youth and Career Counseling of the Department of Education provides, commissions, manages, and coordinates services for child and youth welfare and career counseling. The kjz Winterthur (Child and Youth Welfare Center) is a polyvalent counseling center for families, parents, adolescents, children, and toddlers and operates based on the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the Canton of Zurich.
The kjz Winterthur is looking for a committed and experienced person for the position of Head of Educational Counseling Department (80 - 90%) starting March 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
The employees of the Educational Counseling strengthen parents in their competencies and thus promote the healthy psychosocial development of children and adolescents. With this meaningful and demanding task, you have the opportunity to positively support the lives of children, adolescents, and their families with your team and to stand by them in challenging life situations.
Your tasks
- Professional, organizational, and personnel management of the Educational Counseling Department with a team of about eight psychologists
- Responsibility for professional coaching as well as case and performance management
- Professional leadership in child welfare clarifications and assessments
- Department head of a specialized and cross-departmental task
- Future-oriented, innovative development of services
- Contact person for internal and external agencies as well as active participation in working groups, committees, and projects
- Participation in the eight-member management team of kjz Winterthur
- Member of the child protection group
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Psychology and further training in Systemic Counseling
- Solid knowledge of developmental psychology as well as knowledge of psychopathology in childhood and adolescence
- Very good knowledge of child protection relevant topics
- Leadership experience (optional)
- Organizational and conceptual skills
- High team orientation as well as social and communication skills
