Did you know that there is a prison right in the middle of Zurich? Since 1916, the Zurich Prison (GFZ) has been in operation and with 135 places is the largest remand prison in the canton of Zurich.

A remand prison is used to detain persons who are strongly suspected of a criminal offense until their guilt or innocence is judged.

As a supervisor / caregiver, you accompany inmates without prejudice during this difficult phase and help ensure that everyday prison life runs safely and orderly.

This is how you shape everyday prison life

• Care and support of inmates: You ensure an orderly and safe daily routine and provide advice and guidance to the incarcerated persons
• Ensuring security: You keep an eye on security facilities and cameras and act calmly, purposefully, and prudently in special situations
• Coordination of processes: You organize the movements of inmates and ensure that operations run smoothly
• Administrative tasks: You document events, prepare reports, and keep all processes transparent and comprehensible
• Design and development: You contribute ideas, show commitment, and support the continuous improvement of our operations

What you bring with you

• Minimum age 25 years and an impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal and debt enforcement registers)
• Completed education: a federal certificate of competence, a (specialized) Matura or a comparable qualification
• Good German skills in spoken and written form, additional language skills are an advantage
• Confident handling of MS Office
• Flexibility for shift, weekend, night, and special duties
• High resilience and stress tolerance, keeping a cool head even in stressful situations
