The position is attached to the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents , which aims to provide quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to the health problems faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to the age of 16. It works on the development of cutting-edge services and specialty competence centers.
The general pediatrics service takes care of the health issues of newborns, children, and adolescents until the end of their growth and contributes to health maintenance. It also ensures the coordination and postgraduate training of pediatricians.
The Pediatric Immunology, Vaccinology and Rheumatology Unit , attached to the general pediatrics service, cares for children and adolescents with complex autoimmune, autoinflammatory, and rheumatologic diseases, in close collaboration with other pediatric specialties as well as adult medicine services. The university environment combines high-level clinical care, research, and teaching. The unit maintains active collaborations with other Swiss and international hospitals, promoting the sharing of expertise and the development of research projects at national and international levels.
Job Description
In this position, you are responsible for the comprehensive care, both outpatient and inpatient, of pediatric patients presenting with complex rheumatologic pathologies (juvenile idiopathic arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, autoinflammatory syndromes, etc.).
You participate in multidisciplinary follow-up in collaboration with dermatology, nephrology, neurology units, etc., to ensure optimal and coordinated patient care. You are skilled in performing joint ultrasounds and master intra-articular infiltration techniques to complement clinical evaluation and optimize patient management.
You also contribute to the development and coordination of the transition program for adolescents moving to adult rheumatology, an essential component ensuring continuity of care and appropriate management throughout the care pathway.
You work within a dynamic team in close collaboration with immunologists, enabling integrated management of systemic autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases.
You participate in clinical and translational research activities conducted within the unit.
You actively participate in the supervision and training of medical interns in postgraduate general pediatrics training and ensure the supervision and support of medical trainees.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).
You also possess an FMH specialist title in pediatrics or an equivalent title recognized in Switzerland and additional training in pediatric rheumatology.
You have the right to practice in the canton of Geneva or are able to obtain it before your start date.
Training in joint ultrasound and intra-articular infiltration techniques is desirable.
As a professional passionate about the comprehensive care of the child and their family, you are able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
You show a strong interest in the development and management of clinical and scientific projects, as well as a real commitment to research, while demonstrating excellent teamwork skills.
Excellent command of French, both spoken and written, is required, corresponding to level C1 for non-French-speaking candidates. Additionally, a good knowledge of English is also desirable.
