The Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society (SGS) of the Faculty for Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne provides a stimulating, interdisciplinary research environment. To complete the team, the Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society (SGS) at Faculty

of Business and Economics (HEC Lausanne) is looking for a PhD position in Organization Theory.

February 1st, 2026

Contract duration:  

The initial contract is 1 year. The contract can be renewed for 2 x 2 years. The maximum funding period is 5 years.

Location:

University of Lausanne, Faculty for Business and Economics, Internef Building. The research activities will be carried out in Lausanne, Switzerland, where the candidate should take residence.

Type of position:

This is a full-time position

Salary:

 67'568 CHF (first year) –  78'794  CHF (fifth year) as per current  salary scale for the position of "Assistant Diplômé"

Supervisor:

The supervisor will be Professor Guido Palazzo.

Required Profile for the PhD position:

In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills : 

• A master’s degree, preferably in Management or Economics


• Fluency in English


• A passion for research


• Ability to work independently


• An interest in the topics on which Professor Palazzo does research (sustainability, ethical decision making, storytelling) and in qualitative research methods

Your responsibilities

• A minimum of 50% of the position’s time will be dedicated to the completion of doctoral studies


• A maximum of 50% of the position’s time will be dedicated to providing teaching and research support for the contract responsible
