Employee Sorting Facility (m/f/d)
The clothing center collects and sorts around 600 tons of used clothes and shoes annually for meaningful and targeted reuse at home and abroad. An important part of the collected clothes goes on sale in Switzerland. The operation includes the sorting facility, the warehouses, two textile shops, and the administration.
Your tasks
- Acceptance and inspection of clothing donations
- Checking incoming donations for completeness and condition
- Sorting by categories
- Classification of clothing by size, gender, season, and quality
- Quality control
- Sorting out damaged or unusable items; forwarding to the recycling center
- Preparation for distribution
- Washing, folding, packing, and labeling for storage or sale in the shops
Our requirements
- Experience in warehouse, sorting, or clothing sales / fashion knowledge is an advantage
- Careful and structured working method
- Teamwork, reliability, and resilience
- Basic knowledge of German
- Identification with Caritas' goals (sustainability, social responsibility)
- Basic knowledge of merchandise, sorting processes
- Further training in recycling and sustainability is an advantage
