The Coordination Office Participation in the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs promotes and strengthens the participation of as many population groups as possible in politics and democracy. The Coordination Office Participation is part of the Statistical Office of the Canton of Zurich.
The focus of the Coordination Office is the promotion of political participation and democratic skills, the promotion of social participation in a diverse society, as well as awareness-raising, communication, and the establishment of networks within the cantonal administration and with external partner organizations in these areas.

We are looking for a scientific employee (80%) starting April 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Strategic and conceptual work in the areas of political participation, participation, and democracy promotion
- Independent management of and collaboration in smaller projects in these areas
- Communication (social media and website), networking with internal and external cantonal partners, and organizing events
Your profile
- You have a university degree, preferably in subjects such as political or social sciences, as well as any additional qualifications and/or work experience in a relevant field.
- You are familiar with the topic of political participation and democratic involvement, know relevant issues, and can formulate project ideas.
- You have experience in project management and communication work and can also handle social media.
- Networking and community management are among your strengths.
- You are interested in social developments and the administration's work directed towards them. You have an interest in issues of participation and social diversity and enjoy tackling complex issues creatively and in cooperative collaboration with other units and societal partner organizations of civil society.
