The opportunity
As new R&D Structural Engineer, you will join our Global Multi-Physics Simulation (GLOMUS) network team in the Technology Center of HITACHI-Energy. You will be part of a group of key people with specific expertise in the fields of electrical, structural, acoustic, thermo-mechanic and fluid-dynamics analyses, simulation and testing. As part of our global R&D community including Technology Centers and Research Centers worldwide, you will contribute to support all factories in the PG Dry, Traction and Distribution Transformers on innovative and challenging research projects. You will focus on developing new technologies and products, optimizing existing ones and on supporting different engineering offices around the world.
How you'll make an impact

Finite Element simulation of structures subject to all types of static and dynamic loads (fatigue, impulsive, short-circuit, seismic, etc.)

Develop new automations for the structural, thermomechanical and acoustic assessment of products

Run feasibility studies, develop new technical concepts, design new products and simulate their expected performances

Organize prototyping and testing activities to validate new technologies/products

Support the transfer of technology and knowledge from R&D to engineering department by writing design rules, preparing trainings and collaborating with design tools

Provide technical support to other departments when needed (engineering, product management, marketing and sales etc.)

Your background
- PhD / MSc education in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering field

Knowledge of Matlab

Knowledge of materials properties and performance under different environmental conditions
