Tax law sounds dry?
Come to us and experience how exciting this field really is.
The Special Services department is part of the cantonal tax office. We conduct additional tax and tax evasion procedures and work daily on topics from tax law, criminal law, and procedural law. These three areas directly overlap here, making the work varied and challenging.
Starting March 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking for you as a legal intern. The internship lasts 12 months.
Your tasks
You will handle non-criminal voluntary disclosures and simple tax evasion cases.
After an introduction, you will gradually take on your own cases: you conduct procedures, negotiate with taxpayers, calculate additional taxes and fines, and draft decisions. In doing so, you will get to know many different cases and life situations and gain a broad insight into the work of the tax office.
Your profile
You have completed your law studies (licentiate or master) or are about to do so and possess Swiss citizenship. You work carefully, can familiarize yourself well with new topics, and communicate clearly and respectfully. You are proficient in German, both spoken and written, and are familiar with common office programs. Openness, willingness to learn, and a reliable working style help you to find your way quickly.
Our offer
We will carefully introduce you to your tasks and support you with a personal coach who will assist you in everyday work. Additionally, you have the opportunity to attend internal courses and get to know other areas of the tax administration through internships. You can expect flexible working hours, the possibility of home office, and a modern workplace near Altstetten train station.
