Tasks:
- ensure the maintenance of the paper and electronic civil status register by making the relevant entries
- notify communications and issue civil status extracts
- process preparatory procedures and conduct marriages
- provide advice to users (phone, email, counter, within the scope of procedures)
- carry out billing of services provided to users and collect related fees
- if necessary, act as a substitute officer at other district services or at the central service
Requirements:
- Federal Certificate of Competence (AFC) as a commercial employee
- several years of experience in the administrative field
- language skills in Italian (conversation and writing) and good knowledge (conversation and writing) of French
- good knowledge of German and knowledge of civil status law may be an advantage
- good computer skills, especially with the Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- good communication and interpersonal relationship management skills and a predisposition for contact with internal and external users, even in difficult situations
- good ability to analyze and evaluate documents and information with attention to detail, ability to make decisions independently based on objective criteria and current regulations, and good writing skills
- precision, predisposition to teamwork and to perform activities efficiently and quickly
- flexibility, discretion, reliability and predisposition to work according to set objectives
- willingness to follow specific and ongoing training even outside the Canton and to be transferred if necessary to other service locations (Mendrisio, Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno)
- Swiss citizenship
Special remarks:
- possession of the Federal Certificate of Civil Status Officer allows appointment and access to the function of Civil Status Officer I in class 7; employees without the Federal Certificate of Civil Status Officer will be assigned the function of Officer II (class 4) until the end of specific training. Appointment is subject to obtaining the Federal Certificate of Civil Status Officer

Employment conditions:
- appointment or assignment: those provided for by the Law on the Organization of State Employees and Teachers of March 15, 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any changes in law concerning salary and organization are explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment relationship), flexible or according to service needs
