Team Leader Preservation 80%The State Archive Zurich (www.staatsarchiv.zh.ch) is the archive of the public bodies of the Canton of Zurich and its legal predecessors. By preserving documents from twelve centuries, it makes state actions comprehensible and enables historical research in the broadest sense.
We are looking for a
Team Leader Preservation 80%
for the "Files and Plans" team starting March 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
The Preservation Department comprises 18 employees with different training and areas of expertise. The "Files and Plans" team has the primary task of implementing conservation and low-threshold restoration measures on the collections.
Your tasks
- Professional and personnel management of up to six employees, supported by the deputy team leader
- Management and coordination of the operational daily business together with the other team leaders of the department
- Control of defined conservation and restoration processes
- Planning and management of conservation and restoration projects
- Restoration activities on demanding objects
- Active participation in the professional development of the department and involvement in the development of processes
- Participation in the further development of the State Archive's emergency planning
Your profile
- Master's degree in conservation/restoration of written material or comparable training
- Several years of professional experience in conservation and restoration, experience in photo restoration is an advantage
- Project management experience (and thus business management skills, organizational talent, quick comprehension, and decisiveness)
- Leadership experience
- Strong communication skills in German, good French skills are an advantage
- Good MS Office skills
