Collaborating with experienced long-only fund analysts, you'll analyse historical data to identify patterns and propose strategies for risk management tailored to diverse market conditions. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain predictive insights into manager performance across various investment contexts and time horizons, contributing meaningfully to the advancement of investment strategies.
Your role
• Predictive Power of Fund Data: Analyze the ex post and ex ante predictive power of related fixed income fund data, including track records and portfolio holdings, to enhance fixed income fund selection and monitoring processes.
• Holdings-Based Prediction: Investigate whether portfolio holdings of Fixed Income Fund Managers contain predictive signals for future performance.
• Stress Testing Methodology: Develop and refine optimal approaches to stress test fixed income portfolios, ensuring robust risk management and scenario analysis.
• Alpha Decay Analysis: Examine the phenomenon of alpha decay in active ETFs versus Mutual Fund strategies, providing insights into the persistence of outperformance.
• Continuously refine and validate predictive models by optimizing peer group selection, integrating multiple scoring methods, backtesting and analyzing prediction accuracy, investigating underperformance, expanding relevant data features, and addressing model limitations related to market shifts and universe selection.
Your profile
• Master’s student in Finance, Economics, Statistics or Data Science.
• A definite interest in financial markets, empirical finance, data analytics and data visualisation.
• Proficient in the usual IT tools (MS Office, Tableau, SQL, VBA; R, Python is a plus).
• Strong communication skills, great autonomy while being a team player.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, proactive and solution-oriented mind-set.
• Ability to judge, analyse and work independently.
• Perfect command of French and English.
