Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to accompany the production of power converters, collaborate with various teams, and contribute to the strategic development of the company. Through targeted practical assignments, you will gain valuable experience and further develop your technical skills.
The working model for this role is: onsite. #LI-onsite
In a partnership of ABB System Drives, we offer this position at the Untersiggenthal/Turgi location.
Your main tasks:
You start with an introductory training where you learn and apply the necessary manual skills. Afterwards, you accompany all production steps of a power converter and gain valuable insights into the processes.
In the first two years, you work closely with specialists in assembly and testing to gain solid practical experience. You will be involved in various processes and get to know the technologies and methods directly in the production environment.
In the further course of your four-year program, you apply your knowledge from studies and practice in engineering. This includes the design of components, creating circuit diagrams, and accompanying tests to further expand your technical understanding.
At the end, you have the opportunity to choose a project from various topics, such as choke test bench, MV-Cable Dimensioning Tool, or Battery Management System, which were developed in cooperation with FHNW and ABB. During your four years at ABB, you will also build an international network that opens valuable perspectives for your future career.
This role offers you an excellent foundation for future career paths as an electrical engineer in the fields of development, engineering, project management, service, or technical sales. The study of electrical engineering also provides a solid basis for your further development in specialist, project, or leadership careers.
Your qualification:
You are starting a practice-integrated degree in electrical engineering with a focus on energy and drive technology at FHNW in a part-time model.
You meet the admission requirements for the PiBS program at FHNW and have verified this if in doubt.
You are looking for a practice-oriented education where you can spend at least 40% of your time working in a real work environment.
You are interested in electrical engineering – you like to work practically and are interested in solving technical challenges.
You are an open and team-oriented person who enjoys working with different people in various teams.
You speak and understand German and can express yourself confidently in the work environment.
