Department: School of Engineering
Start date: Immediately, the position is initially limited to one year
- You develop new liquid coating formulations in the laboratory and test them according to the project specifications or develop new test methods.
- You adapt the coating process and formulation in close consultation with the industry partner to the respective problem.
- You document your experiments in the laboratory, summarize them in reports, and present the results to the industry partner.
- You synthesize new molecules or chemically functionalize polymers.
- Your knowledge in surface analytics and your interconnected thinking help you solve complex issues.
- You work independently and proactively, thus making a significant contribution to the success of the project.
- You supervise students within the framework of internships, project, and bachelor theses.
You have:
- a university degree or comparable education in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related disciplines such as coating technology
- experience in organic chemistry, especially polymer chemistry
- ideally experience in the fields of coating chemistry, formulation, and application

The Laboratory for Polymer Coatings deals with the functionalization of surfaces and the formulation and application of polymer-based coating materials to achieve functional surfaces. These are deposited from the liquid phase.
