Engineer in Solution Mining and Maintenance Technology (80 - 100 %)
Your tasks
As a link between exploration & production, you support the team and the head of raw material production in the systematic planning, execution, and control of the solution mining process at the two locations Riburg and Schweizerhalle. You ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, technical standards, and standardized processes in the field of solution mining technology. In doing so, you make a central contribution to safe, sustainable, and economical salt production. From Switzerland for Switzerland.
- Co-design and implementation of processes in the field of solution mining technology as well as technical support for cavern development using established simulation software (including pre- and post-simulation).
- Preparation of cavern balances (history matching) and creation of corresponding technical reports.
- Planning of solution mining production, including preparation of work and planning documents as well as participation in the development of workover programs.
- Development of medium- to long-term mining plans for the solution mining fields.
- Optimization of operational work planning and processes to increase efficiency in ongoing solution mining operations at the solution mining fields.
- Application and further development of modern production methods according to the current state of science and technology.
- Co-responsibility for the continuous improvement of solution mining processes and aftercare of the cavern fields, in collaboration with colleagues.
Your profile
- Completed university degree (diploma, university or ETH) in applied geoengineering sciences, mining, geology, drilling technology, or related fields.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in mining (ideally also underground mining), solution mining or leaching technology, cavern construction, storage caverns, or drilling technology.
- Know-how in the areas of production, drilling and leaching technology as well as the geological and environmental context.
- Practical experience in project work (project management), including planning, implementation, and documentation of technical projects.
- Technical support of the solution mining fields – from drilling creation to proper aftercare of the caverns.
- Preparation of technical planning and work documents for workover operations.
Ability to collaborate interdisciplinarily with internal and external stakeholders. - Reliable and trustworthy handling of sensitive technical and regulatory issues.
Your qualities as a team member

- Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
- Team player with a pragmatic approach and a touch of humor.
- Native German or French speaker with very good knowledge of the other language; English skills are an advantage.
