The Preparatory Course in Design is the pre-education program for all bachelor degree programs in the fields of art and design. Depending on the prerequisites, it can be completed full-time over two or one semester or part-time over three semesters. The goal is the successful application for a study place at ZHdK or other art and design universities in Switzerland or abroad. At full capacity, the preparatory course has 150 students. The approximately 40 lecturers from various departments form the teaching team. Many of them are also active in higher education teaching or other professional practice fields of design and art.

Lecturer for Three-Dimensional Design 30%, (m/f/d)
Your Tasks
As a lecturer, you teach the basics of spatial design and design processes in the area of object and space with a focus on design (object and industrial design, fashion design, trends & identity, scenography, interior architecture, production design) and art.
Furthermore, you accompany the development of students' spatial areas of interest in small projects that arise through an experimental process (using analog and digital methods). You promote a process-oriented working approach with various materials and techniques. You teach both independently and in a small team. The imparting of practical and theoretical basic knowledge in the areas of constructive and plastic design is a central part of the teaching.

We are looking for a qualified designer / artist with a focus on spatial constructive and plastic work with a corresponding recognized higher education qualification. In addition, you bring the following:

- A broadly based portfolio with works from design and art
- Interest in supporting students in their creative beginnings
- Several years of professional experience as a designer in the three-dimensional field
- Methodical-didactic expertise and teaching experience
- Ability to teach project- and process-oriented
- Committed and team-oriented personality
- High flexibility regarding teaching days
- A master’s degree or recognized master equivalence
- Knowledge of preparatory course and university culture
