About the Role
This role is responsible for driving the global standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement of last mile service delivery processes across our international network. Key areas of responsibility include transportation planning, routing, scheduling, and operational execution to ensure reliable and efficient service delivery to customers.
The position combines operational process ownership, project leadership, and digital enablement, with a strong emphasis on transportation management tools, planning systems, and data-driven performance management.
Working closely with regional and local operations teams, the role leads the development and implementation of global standards for service delivery and last mile logistics, pilots new solutions, and supports the deployment of innovative tools aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and service reliability.

This is a hybrid role. Candidates may be based in any country where gategroup has an office and operational presence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Own and develop global service delivery processes, with a strong focus on last mile transportation planning, routing, and operational execution.

Design and implement global operational standards, including process definitions, SOPs, performance tracking tools, and standardized reporting frameworks.

Lead the development, testing, and rollout of new operational standards, coordinating pilot implementations with regional and local operational teams.

Drive global improvement initiatives related to service delivery, transportation planning, and fleet operations from concept through implementation.
Key Qualifications and Experience
-
Proven expertise in last mile logistics, transportation operations, or service delivery planning.

Strong experience with transportation management systems (TMS), routing optimization tools, planning and scheduling software, or fleet management solutions.

Solid understanding of transport planning, route optimization, fleet utilization, and operational scheduling in complex operational environments.

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to translate insights into operational improvements.

Experience in process design, operational standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Familiarity with Lean, Operational Excellence, or process improvement methodologies is an advantage.

Experience managing cross-regional projects and collaborating with global stakeholders.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Core competencies and requirements
Education
-
Bachelor degree in business economics, business science, engineering or related fields

Lean manufacturing certification/knowledge is required
Work Experience
-
5+ years in operational leadership position with progressing roles with international experience

Previous experience in leadership of continuous improvement programs

Lean manufacturing/6-Sigma deployment experience

Experience in implementation automation, assembly processes

Project management experience
Technical / Language Skills
-
Strong computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Power BI experience is a plus

CAD system experience is a plus
-
Excellent command of English
