About the position
IBM Research in Zurich is expanding its quantum hardware team focused on readout and leakage reset technologies for IBM’s superconducting quantum processors. As part of the global IBM Quantum organization, you will contribute to delivering on IBM’s ambitious quantum roadmap and advancing the realization of quantum advantage and fault-tolerant quantum computing for clients worldwide.
What you will do
You will design and characterize core components of IBMs next-generation quantum processors. Together with a dynamic team you will develop new solutions to improve readout and leakage reset for large scale error corrected quantum systems, involving the development of new ideas, design and simulation of scalable quantum circuits, layout of such circuits using IBMs advanced chip technology, characterization of quantum devices at cryogenic temperatures and development of code for their calibration and operation.
What we are looking for
You are curious, eager to understand and improve the behavior of complex quantum systems, and comfortable contributing your own ideas while engaging in critical scientific discussion with colleagues. You thrive in an agile, fast paced research environment and are excited by challenging milestones and a shared mission to build next generation computing systems grounded in quantum mechanics.
