At Zurich West Prison (GZW), we serve the public 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Our tasks and challenges are diverse – we master them together as a team with high professionalism.
The Central Services department supports prison operations in the areas of construction, technology, logistics, and administration. It makes an important contribution to smooth, efficient operations and security at Zurich West Prison.
We are looking for an experienced, committed individual as Head of Security and Construction Coordination, starting immediately or by arrangement.
This is your field of activity
- You bear overall responsibility for passive security and the implementation of internal security processes
- You ensure compliance with legal requirements and are responsible for risk management as well as alarm and crisis management
- You control security-relevant procedures and processes and take on the role of Safety Officer (SIBE) for fire protection and occupational safety throughout the operation
- You design and conduct training on internal security processes
- You are the central interface to authorities, emergency services, and other external partners
- You advise the operation on structural and technical security infrastructure in collaboration with the Construction and Logistics department of UGZ
- You lead and coordinate internal renovation projects during ongoing operations, taking into account safety and operational requirements
- You work closely with internal partners and external specialist planners and ensure the implementation of structural and technical security requirements
- As a member of management, you actively contribute to the strategic development of the Central Services department
What you bring
- You have completed basic training (EFZ) and further education, e.g., a federal specialist certificate or a bachelor's degree
- You have solid training in security (e.g., police, military, civil protection, airport), technology, or construction (HF/FH)
- Ideally, you have additional training as a Safety Officer (SIBE) for fire protection and occupational safety or are willing to complete it
- You have several years of experience in structural and technical security as well as in developing emergency and crisis concepts
- You have experience in designing and implementing security processes, risk management, and crisis management
- You bring proven experience in project management as well as in developing and implementing processes
- You possess strong communication skills in German (written and spoken) and can convey complex matters clearly
