Head of Social Assistance (m/f/d) 90 % due to the retirement of the current position holder starting February 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Your Tasks
- Professional, organizational, and personnel management of the Social Assistance area, consisting of 5 employees
- You organize and coordinate the Social Assistance area and continuously professionalize it
- You participate in the team of department heads in the Social Department and represent the Social Assistance area
- Case management in the Social Assistance area including personal assistance according to the SKOS guidelines, the Social Assistance Act of the Canton of Zurich, and the competence order
- Management of the welfare secretariat including the documentation of the meetings of the social authority
- Editing applications to the social authority and processing decisions
- You collaborate with other social institutions and organizations and are a point of contact for third parties
Your Profile
- University degree in Social Work or equivalent training, possibly a Master's degree
- Several years of professional experience in economic social assistance
- Proven leadership experience, with completed training in leadership or you are willing to complete such training
- Comprehensive knowledge of social insurance law as well as solid knowledge in subsidiarity. In addition, you bring knowledge in related areas such as asylum and supplementary benefits.
- Fluent German in spoken and written form, foreign language skills are an advantage
- Very good PC skills (KLIBnet, CMI)
- Very good planning and organizational skills with a structured working method
- A resilient, balanced personality
- You work independently and responsibly, are loyal, and are interested in social and socio-political issues
