System Architect and Requirements Engineer Business Intelligence (m/f/d)

Trapeze ITS UK, a leading provider of intelligent transport systems, provides market leading ITS solutions to major cities globally.

As part of our R&D development centre, we are looking for a System Architect and Requirements Engineer in the area of Business Intelligence (BI) and Contract and Performance Management System (CPS). This job covers the gap between the customers and the development teams, to ensure that requirements formulated in the customer’s language are broken down, fully specified in the context of the ITS solution, enabling the development teams to provide the correct solution matching the expectations.

Your Tasks:

  • Understand Customer Requirements: Work as part of the project team to fully understand the customer requirements. Where required, visit customers and jointly create and review suitable solution descriptions.

  • Write Feature Specifications: Write functional specifications, which are sufficiently detailed for the development team to design the functionality. The feature descriptions need to reflect the changes required in context of the existing product(s).

  • Understand and maintain the System Architecture: Maintain the System Architecture for the BI and CPS platform, including the database model, the reports platform based on PowerBI, and the reports and mileage claiming applications.

  • Own the feature development process: Serve as the “feature owner” throughout the development cycle. This includes to present and review the feature descriptions with the development teams (mainly Product Owner); answer any open questions; monitor the Sprint results w.r.t. the functional development; do a first pass test once the feature is delivered.  

  • Support Test: Support system testing of the functionality, and declare functional acceptance of the delivered features.

  • Support On Site Integration: Support the customer engineering team for on site integration and acceptance test, where time allows.

  • Coordination with Developers: You will be part of a small team of architects and solution experts in Neuhausen. You will coordinate your work with the development teams in Delhi/India as well as Wroclaw/Poland.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Computer Sciences or Telecommunications; BSc or MSc

  • Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written

  • Ability to travel to customer sites world wid

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • At least 2 years software development using with a BI reporting tool (PowerBI or MicroStrategy)

  • At least 2 years’ experience in public transport; familiar with KPIs and industry terms such as OnTime, EWT (Excess Waiting Time), Mileage calculations.
