One week before the semester begins, the newly enrolled students of the assessment year come together for the StartWeek on the campus of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) to familiarize themselves with the university environment. The StartWeek is an integral and curricular part of the assessment year. The overall goal of the StartWeek is to optimally prepare first-year students content-wise and organizationally for their daily study routine during one week and to get to know the social and academic environment of the university.
The assessment year is the first year of the bachelor's degree program at the University of St.Gallen (HSG). The structure of the study program and the examination system of the assessment year aim to provide students with basic subject knowledge, fundamental scientific qualifications, and self-learning skills, as well as to give an overview of the subsequent specialization options to enable them for their studies at the bachelor and master levels.
Your tasks
- Planning, organizational, and coordination tasks at the interface between teaching and administration
- Process, project, and development management
- Various analytical and evaluative tasks
- Methodical-didactic preparation of interdisciplinary case studies on changing topics
- Teaching activities within the framework of the StartWeek course (bachelor and master level) with a teaching assignment
- Writing texts of all kinds (for websites and print materials)
Your profile
- Master's degree (or equivalent degree)
- Very good written and spoken expression in German and English
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Independent, systematic, efficient, and reliable way of working
- Initiative, quick comprehension, and good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Willingness to work flexibly to compensate for higher workloads at times
- Ideally pedagogical-didactic training or experience in methodical-didactic preparation of teaching materials
- Ideally professional experience in the university environment
