IT or Legal Specialist as Deputy Head of Data Protection Supervision Office

The newly established Data Protection Supervision Office started its work on January 1, 2026. We are in the exciting process of building the office, which monitors and supports the application of data protection regulations by authorities according to the new Cantonal Data Protection Act. The rapid technological developments and numerous connections to societal issues make data protection an interesting and dynamic field of work with many interdisciplinary questions. The Data Protection Supervision Office is an independent body administratively assigned to the Chancellery.
To complement our team, we are looking for a committed and competent personality for the IT area as an IT or legal specialist as Deputy Head of Data Protection Supervision Office starting August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
- Data protection audits and opinions on IT projects with a high risk to the fundamental rights of natural or legal persons
- Support of data protection officers in IT systems and processes as well as advising administrative offices in developing solutions to minimize risks
- Consultation on data protection impact assessments as well as evaluation of protection needs and risk analyses and ISDS concepts (information security and data protection concepts)
- Analysis of system architectures, data flows, and technical protective measures regarding data protection requirements
- Assessment of data security breaches and support in their follow-up
- Monitoring technological developments (cloud, AI, encryption) and deriving regulatory requirements
- You have training in computer science, IT security, or business informatics (tertiary level) with solid legal knowledge or a completed law degree with solid IT knowledge
- Further training or certification in information security and/or IT auditing or in data protection is an advantage
- Knowledge in IT security, network technologies, system architectures, and software/cloud environments
- Initiative, reliable, discreet, and integrity personality
- Communication and teamwork skills as well as negotiation skills
- Additional cantonal language is an advantage
