Acting on behalf of the University Hospitals of the cantons of Vaud and Geneva, the Central Purchasing and Biomedical Engineering Department (CAIB) ensures the procurement of goods and services of all kinds to guarantee the optimal operation of hospitals under the best market conditions, in compliance with the rules and laws governing our institutions. In this context, it coordinates all purchases and plans acquisition and renewal files for heavy equipment. The CAIB has established partnerships with various regional hospitals and has a strong presence in French-speaking Switzerland.
Job Description
As a purchasing manager, you are the central point for all purchase requests from the Geneva University Hospitals for the real estate & construction category.
You are responsible for the proper use and application of framework contracts and conduct tenders for new needs (according to thresholds).
As an ambassador of the central purchasing department, you are in daily contact with the internal client to follow up on projects, gather new needs, find sustainable solutions, and represent the interests of the HUG with suppliers in your category. In this capacity, you monitor supplier performance by implementing periodic reviews.
Thanks to your knowledge of your purchasing category, you contribute to the economic performance of the HUG by directing various needs towards solutions that meet quality, cost, and deadline objectives.
Qualifications
You hold a higher education degree such as a Master HES or equivalent, preferably with a specialization in purchasing.
You have at least 3 years of proven experience in purchasing, with verified experience in the real estate & construction field.
You are comfortable with project management, file follow-up, and data analysis. You demonstrate autonomy and have good interpersonal skills.
You have a perfect command of the French language (read, spoken, and written) and very good knowledge of English.
Excellent computer skills are also required.
